He will get you through it.

Phoenix Rising... (Haiku)

from ashes she rose
and fluttered towards the sun
swift as light she soared...

________

strength renewed by flames
she spreads her wide fiery wings
a phoenix rises...

The Muffed Target

Welcome to the The Muffed Target

Every Tuesday, my very good friend Thom at Thom's Place 4 Well Whatever hosts The Muffed Target which runs by these rules:

"Each Tuesday post a picture which is completely crazy, messed up, with nothing on etc, which normally you would immediately delete. It can be everything, like only shoes instead of the whole person, a blurred building or whatever you want. Then tell us the little story how it happened and what it should have been..."
The Zipline Experience

This was taken more than a year ago with the use of a digital camera. Two important men in my life- bonding together for the first time. I was so excited to capture the moment that I didn't care if they looked like flying ants in the photo. Lol!

Have a great week ahead!

Heart's Strength

she comes here each day
in a state of dejection
waiting and hoping...

but not for long though
such is the human spirit
marked by resilience...

soon she wakes up to
face the rising sun with hope
second chance awaits...

for life does not end
where love comes to its sore death
a fresh start unfolds...

A Tranquil Soul

in the stillness of the mind

the soul placidly rests

blissful tranquility wraps

the core of one's being

time falls into oblivion

as the noise slowly dies

and calm soon reigns

solitude's silent song

from deep within

sweet lullaby for the soul

Pathways (Haiku)

my child, don't be scared
i'll always be here for you
i believe in you

your eyes speak volumes
i see high hopes and big dreams
let me fly with you

on those narrow paths
ahead of you, take my hand
i shall walk with you

i am here to guide
i do not seek to impose
let me be your light

don't mind what they say
take that step and don't look back
this is your journey

your heart is the key
follow what makes you happy
that's all that matters

My Son, My Son...

My son was an altar server during the Thanksgiving Mass for the canonization of Saint Candida Maria de Jesus, their school's foundress. It was a big event as it was officiated by the Archbishop himself as well as several other priests at the San Pedro Cathedral.

Being the stage mom that I am, I clicked and clicked on my cellphone camera as soon as my son appeared during the entrance march. Of course, since it was a solemn event, I was the only parent who dared to take photos inside the church. After all, that was my son there...

Well, with his back turned as he walked past me...

That's my son alright... I could not get a clear shot so I ran to the front pew.  Here's a clearer shot... of the candle stand he was holding! LOL!

I hope you enjoyed the photos. :D

The Seven Deadly Sins

seven deadly sins
for eternal damnation
humanity's bane...

______________

Lustful thoughts reign
Unquenchable thirst for sex
Soul, body and mind on fire
The worst kind of bondage.
______________

Envious of what others have
Never contented with one's own lot
Vexatious green-eyed monster
Yearning to outdo another.
______________

Grasping beyond one's reach
Racing against time in
Endless pursuit of material wealth
Even for power and control
Devil incarnate.
______________

Warpath has been paved
Rage embraced her heart
Anger covers her sight
To offers of love and forgiveness
Hell, indeed, hath no fury like a woman scorned...
 ______________

Staving off so long
Laziness in disguise
Overstaying in a state of idleness
Total waste of one's God-given talents
Headed towards self-destruction.
______________

Gastronomic greed
Love of food beyond imagination
Unsatisfiable craving for anything edible
To a point of sickening proportion
To stop is not an option
Oblivious to his gut's limitations
Never mind if it slows him down
Yelling for more, munching his way to death.
______________

Perverted love of oneself
Respect is what he expects
Indifferent to other people's feelings
Denying any imperfection
Excessive self love shall be his doom.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
