Hope in the Shadows

When shadows fall and truth seems lost,

Beneath the weight of lies’ great cost,

A spark ignites, though faint, it burns,

The wheel of justice slowly turns.

The webs of falsehood twist and bind,

Yet truth resides within the mind.

Through every doubt, through every fight,

Its steady glow defies the night.

In darkest hours, strength is found,

When silence echoes all around.

A voice emerges, clear and true,

Revealing what was always due.

The path is hard, the journey steep,

Through buried secrets, lies that creep.

But hope persists, a flame unseen,

It fights for all that might have been.

So when despair begins to call,

And doubt seems stronger than it all,

Remember this: the light will show,

For truth and hope are bound to grow.

Whether seeking justice, understanding, or peace, let this be your reminder: darkness is not the end. Breakthroughs are born in perseverance, and the truth, no matter how deeply buried, has a way of rising to the surface. Hold onto hope—it is the light that will guide you through.

Breathless Beauty

Hold your breath, the world unfolds,

In silver whispers, tales retold.

Pause the rush, feel the weight,

Life’s a song we can’t recreate.

Every moment, pure and bright,

flicker caught in morning light.

Hush the noise, still the sound,

Beauty blooms all around.

Air is thin, yet life’s so deep,

Secrets linger where we leap.

Every breath a spark, a chance,

To catch the rhythm, join the dance.

So hold it close, then let it fly,

This fragile breath, a soft goodbye.

In each heartbeat, wild and free—

Life’s a gift, a mystery.

Bali’s Mystique

In an assiduous attempt to survive
Each single day of existence
We tend to forget we owe ourselves
A break once in a while
Until that headache persists
And vertigo sets in
As if to remind us that our brain
Needs some breathing space too.

And so I was persuaded
By well-meaning girl friends
To go on hiatus in a faraway land
Away from it all, they said
On a journey with no expectations
Expedition of unfamiliar enclave
I closed my eyes and
Started building castles in the air.
As soon as we landed
A sense of euphoria embraced us
Finally away from it all as promised
No deadline to beat nor
Persistent phone calls to answer
As if magic descended upon us
And the universe contrived to hide us
In this enchanted island called Bali.
One can’t help but admire Bali's
Mystical centuries-old temples on cliffs
And on water in the highlands
Mischievous monkeys standing guard
Ornate designs of wooden doors and trusses
And of gods and idols made of stone
The alluring landscapes of terraced rice paddies
Serenity calms the mind as one absorbs the beauty of Bali.

The roaring sound of waves filled the air
As we hiked steep rocky heights
Torrent pummeled the earth below us
As the sun set magnificently
In a horizon of glowing colors
Of red, yellow and orange
Nature’s splendid display is eternally
At its finest on this hemisphere.

An exciting part of the trip was our rendezvous with the famous Ketut Liyer, medicine man of Bali who appeared in the movie “Eat Pray Love” with Julia Roberts.

The Other Side of Happy

Happy and Sad Half Faces by Jim Dandy

happiness beckons...

a choice you have to make

no matter what the circumstances are

at the perfect time

it will all make sense

happiness beckons...

cast that smile up on the shore

the right attitude is your anchor

the best is yet to come

claim and embrace your bliss

happiness beckons…

yet you dwell on the odds

counting the obstacles

instead of the bounty

that passed you by unnoticed

happiness beckons…

yet you live in the past

like a spurned rose

you wither on the vine

and idly wait for Gaia to claim you

Dona Nobis Pacem... There is Hope...

Begin each day with a grateful heart
Let the morning breeze augur a fresh start
Oh, there is hope... there is hope...
God, grant thy people a way to cope...

Besieged by nature's wrath
Let mankind find the rightful path
Amidst the baffling global climate change
Sadly, humanity is also placed in war-torn range
Too many souls perish each day... all for naught!

Freedom, once suppressed, is cause for distraught
Oh, there is hope... there is hope...
Refrain from going down the slippery slope...

Pursue that which creates harmony
Embrace that which promotes unity
Accept each other's flaws
Coexistence is a worthy cause
Every man will one day learn to let go of blame...

Dona Nobis Pacem!

Indeed, there is hope... there is hope...

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
