Breathless Beauty

Hold your breath, the world unfolds,

In silver whispers, tales retold.

Pause the rush, feel the weight,

Life’s a song we can’t recreate.

Every moment, pure and bright,

flicker caught in morning light.

Hush the noise, still the sound,

Beauty blooms all around.

Air is thin, yet life’s so deep,

Secrets linger where we leap.

Every breath a spark, a chance,

To catch the rhythm, join the dance.

So hold it close, then let it fly,

This fragile breath, a soft goodbye.

In each heartbeat, wild and free—

Life’s a gift, a mystery.

When The Mask Slips

The truth is, everyone wears a mask sometimes, showing one side to the world while another part goes unnoticed. But I’ve come to understand that even the smallest harm we cause can stay with someone long after we’ve moved on. And as much as we might want to leave our mistakes in the past, they linger in the lives of those who carry the scars.

Comeuppance, for me, hasn’t been a grand reckoning but rather a personal one—a call to see my own actions clearly, without the filter of self-justification. It’s the work of removing my own masks, of facing who I’ve been to others and finding ways to be more conscious, more careful. Because if my kindness doesn’t reach those who have borne my missteps, am I really as good as I want to believe?

We talk about karma as if it’s some cosmic justice, but sometimes, karma is the simple reality of realizing that those who were hurt remember, even if we’d rather they didn’t. For me, that’s enough of a reason to be better, to tread more gently, and to be sure that the person I want to be is the same person others truly experience.

Remembrance (2011)

a distant star glimmers
the coldness of the night
makes me shiver
i hear you whisper
i shudder at the thought

you live in my heart
you never left
that's why i still hear you
and feel your love as
cold air embraces me

every time i lay awake
anxious at uncertainties
you rush to ease my mind
if only you could
wipe away my tears

memories of rainbows and
of echoing laughter
unfulfilled dreams and
promises lie in their wake
bittersweet remembrance of past

Life As It Is

Finding Peace in Your Soul

In our fast-paced, ever-demanding world, finding peace within ourselves is often easier said than done. Yet, soul-deep peace is essential for true well-being and resilience. It’s more than a fleeting moment of calm; it’s a state of acceptance, a balance between what we’ve endured and where we are headed.

The journey to inner peace often begins with letting go—of expectations, regrets, and past hurts. It’s about accepting the things we cannot change and releasing the weight of past events that no longer serve us. This doesn’t mean forgetting; it means finding strength in what we’ve survived and recognizing that every challenge has shaped us.

Embracing the present is the next step. When we’re constantly thinking about what has been or what could be, we miss out on what is. Peace is rooted in this moment—the breath we take, the beauty we notice, the gratitude we feel. It’s in the small, simple joys that life offers every day.

Finally, trusting that things happen for a reason allows us to rest in a sense of purpose, even when things don’t make sense immediately. Peace isn’t the absence of pain or struggle; it’s the quiet assurance that, whatever comes, we have the strength to face it.

True peace is a journey, a choice we make daily. It’s a gift we give to ourselves and, ultimately, to those around us. Embrace the journey, find your peace, and let it shine through every part of your life.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
