The Healing Embrace

When words feel sharp, and hearts feel torn,

A hug can mend what speech has worn.

No need for wisdom, no need for sound,

Just arms that wrap and love profound.

For in that touch, a soul can heal,

A quiet proof of care that’s real.

So save the lecture, let it wait—

A hug can open healing’s gate.

⚖️⚖️⚖️

In times of struggle, what people often need most is not advice but connection and understanding. Offering a lecture to someone who is hurting can come across as dismissive or even judgmental, unintentionally deepening their pain. A hug, however, conveys warmth, empathy, and unconditional support, often saying more than words ever could. It reminds them they’re not alone and that their emotions are valid. While advice has its place, it’s the power of human connection—expressed through a simple embrace—that can truly comfort and heal in moments of vulnerability.

Red Roses For Dad

Bright blooms of crimson, petals wide,

A memory of love, my heart’s soft guide.

They speak of warmth, of joy, of grace,

Of moments shared, your smiling face.

Oh, red roses, so vivid, so true,

Each petal whispers, “I remember you.”

Your favorite flower, a beacon of cheer,

Now carries my love when I draw near.

At your resting place, I gently lay,

A bouquet of roses to brighten the day.

They stand like sentinels, strong and proud,

A tribute of love beneath the cloud.

Though you’re gone, your spirit remains,

In laughter, in lessons, in life’s refrains.

The roses I bring are more than they seem—

They’re pieces of love, woven with dreams.

The Joy of Growing Older

Grace grows where time gently weaves its story.

The angles of life, once sharp and bright,

Now soften with time, bathed in gentle light.

Each passing year a treasure to hold,

A story colored in hues of gold.

The mirror reflects a wiser face,

A canvas of love, of laughter, and grace.

Older we grow, yet younger at heart,

A masterpiece where all seasons play a part.

Through life’s shifting shades, we stand tall,

Embracing the beauty of it all.

Aging with joy, like a timeless song,

Knowing each step has made us strong.

Sunday by the Sea

Every Sunday, the world stood still,

As we journeyed to the sea’s blue thrill.

With Dad at the helm, his laughter warm,

We braved the tides, the waves, the storm.

The ocean stretched, vast and wide,

A mystery calling us to its side.

Barefoot children, hearts so free,

Chasing dreams along the sea.

He held our hands, then let us go,

Teaching courage in the ebb and flow.

“Trust the water,” he’d softly say,

“Let it carry your fears away.”

In the deep, where the waters dance,

We found our strength, our second chance.

Each stroke a bond, each wave a cheer,

A lesson in love, so crystal clear.

Salt in the air, sun on our skin,

Moments where life would truly begin.

The sea was more than just a shore—

It was our home, our Sunday lore.

Now grown, I hear the ocean’s song,

A timeless hymn where we belong.

And in its depths, I feel him near,

Guiding me still, year after year.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
