If God brought you to it,
He will get you through it.

The Masquerade

taking things
in stride
what is it
you hide
behind the mask
you wear
what's the secret
you can't bare
your empty
laughter
gives away
the answer

"empty laughter" - it is very revealing.

Really enjoyed this!

Sherry Blue Sky September 14, 2010 at 11:14 PM

Yes, I know this feeling, of laughing to cover the pain that is too intense to reveal. Very well said, Bing. And keep smiling, we love your smile!

Sandee September 14, 2010 at 11:28 PM

behind the mask says it all...at a point the actor will want to get a life...at a point the mask will be unveiled but sad to see people see behind the mask despite all the empty effort to hide. Nicely done!

Cheers.

So many of us live behind the mask... it is a safe haven, rather than challenge the world full speed!

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
