If God brought you to it,
He will get you through it.

Milestones (Haiku)

T'was five years ago
When my world turned upside down
Overwhelming grief!

An unbeaten soul
Strengthened by a firm resolve
I refused to bend.

Slowly but surely
Towards the glimmer of light
One step at a time.

Bracing the darkness
Off I went to tunnel's end
From courage sprung hope.

A tragic end but
A new beginning ensued
From thence a fresh start.

 Join the fun!

Next week’s theme: Freestyle! Whatever you want!

Your heart is strong, Bing.

That quote at the top of your blog, If God brought it to you, He will get you through it, is the Truth summed up in two lines. He will never give you more than you can handle.

I have a very good feeling that you will emerge from this a stronger person.

Excellent my friend. And what a strong heart you do have :) Love thiss and it's refreshing to know that one can come back and make it from the bowels of society and know that life is worth living and that the world is yours however you choose to make it be!!!

Bing Yap June 2, 2010 at 7:06 PM

realliveman, that quote serves as a reminder to everyone that no matter how bad the ride is, we will all get to our destination. it is faith that brought me to where i am now. i'd like to believe that a stronger and, i hope, better person emerged after that tough ride. thanks for your nice comment. :)

Bing Yap June 2, 2010 at 7:11 PM

thom, if i didn't go through that experience i wouldn't be credible in saying that we can all do it. we are all resilient and it is up to us to tap the hidden resources within us. i once read somewhere that if we can't change our circumstances, then we should change our attitude. i decided to look at the brighter side when i got tired of seeing nothing but darkness. thanks for your heartwarming comment. :)

powerful writing,
you have the strength and powerful to survive everything and anything...

You are like the Phoenix. You rose from the ashes of your previous life. Your inner strength and beauty are a testimony to the truth of Isaiah 61:3

Anonymous June 3, 2010 at 2:37 AM

Aww my dear sweet friend. You would be credible saying it. I say it and I have never been through something like you did. It's all how you look at life. But you can talk from first hand experience. That is the difference. I just say what I think and how we should be and that is that we all need to look on the bright side of things ALWAYS!!! Attitude is everything. We get involved with the circumstances and it's up to us to make the choice. :) I believe even if you never ever had to go through that you would be saying the same thing and be as credible as you are right now. Maybe I'm trying to justify that what I say is credible but even if those out there don't think it is I do and that my dear sweet one is all that really matters. Because it's my life, my choices and my being...And i choose to look at the bright and positive side always. Granted it doesn't always happen because there are down days..we all go through it, but we manage and we move on :)

jingle, thanks... i do believe though that we all have that strength and power in us to turn our lives around. thanks for dropping by again. :)

quilly i don't know what to say. your comment made me blush and it really warmed my heart. over and above anything else, it was HIS strength that covered me when i was at my weakest. i try not to sound religious in my blog (because honestly, i am far from being religious) so as to reach out to as many people as i can but i do want the world to know how HIS goodness saved me from destruction. all the credit goes to HIM.

when i had nothing else left, it was then that i realized HE was all that i needed. blessings to you, dear =)

thom, you make a lot of people happy with your blog. i see a kindred spirit in you- strong-willed and optimistic. you spread sunshine to your readers, truly a blessing to us who get to read your daily posts. i guess credibility arises from sincerity. you say you never went through something like what i did but you still manage to spread smiles and laughter and a positive outlook to everyone with great credibility. your candor is refreshing, making us all feel that it's ok to speak out our minds and reassuring us that we won't be harshly judged for it. hey, i should give you credit for bringing out the wacky side of me. your blog inspired me to unleash my humor and creativity. see, i even write poems again (something i have not done for decades!) and i got the idea from you. your comments always make me smile. thank you so much for that. :)

blessings to you, thom!

Bing - You are very dear to me and I'm glad that I have at least met you through your blog. It seems like we have been friends forever. I love your wackiness and your thoughtfulness and just you as a person. You speak what you feel and that my dear friend is refreshing :) I encourage people on my blog to speak their minds. I may not agree and may answer harshly but that's just me. But looking at the grand scheme of things it's all about being honest, enjoying life and just being oneself. You do that brilliantly :)

Jenn@ You know... that blog? June 4, 2010 at 7:49 AM

I'm late getting home from my business trip, and trying to catch up!!

Wow, 5 years already - it's been a very rough road for you, I know. You have come through it admirably though, and you're a stronger person for it. Not sure I would have weathered that storm so well.

Well done haiku...

Beautifully expressed, and out came the light. Darkness does indeed help and heal us to see ourselves for what we truly are underneath the cracks and layers. For it is that darkness that makes us fly higher into the light, thus darkness and light walk hand in hand in the whole equation of true existence. :)

Happy to have stopped by - Many blessings of love to you too. :)

Keep shining.

Hello Bing
I too lost my husband, now almost three years ago. Forever one is touched by loss, but time helps to stand one up and slowly move forward. What a beautiful poem you have written and shared. How long before you realized that you had been offered a new beginning?

Anonymous June 16, 2010 at 10:04 AM

beautiful words:)

Strength comes in many forms...but yours is the rarest and the most wonderful of all strengths...god bless u:)

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
