Riding The Tide
I've made it through difficult times before. And I always landed on my feet... maybe not dancing, maybe not always sure about what to do next. But things always turned out for the best. It was good that I kept my sense of humor and never lost my smile. I may not always have all the answers but - at least - I am willing to hope... and try... and believe.
I went through rough waters last July. Little did I know then that it was some sort of a rite of passage for me. I was at a crossroads again and I didn't know which way to go.
And so, I let the tide lead me.
Slowly, the new path unfolded. A life-altering change was due. The realization overwhelmed me but it no longer scared me. I knew in my heart that this was meant to happen.
For 15 years, I set my sail in only one direction. In this kind of profession, the courtroom is the ultimate arena for wit, wisecracks and a fervent spirit. Litigation kept my blood alive. The challenge and stress that each case brought emboldened me more.
I never imagined that the day would come when I will say "No More."
But that day has come.... and I am embracing the change.
Happily.
With so much anticipation.
Things always happen for a reason.
I am riding the tide and enjoying the journey.
