He will get you through it.

The Forgetful Philosopher

Oh, memories of sorrow, please take a hike,

Pack your bags and catch the next bike.

Life’s too short for brooding and tears,

I’ve decided to laugh for the rest of my years.

That breakup? Who? Was it Joe or Jon?

Can’t recall—was it nine or ten?

The time I tripped in front of the class?

It’s now just a tale of my graceful sass.

Bills unpaid and that dent on my car,

I blame it on Mercury retrograde’s bizarre!

The boss who yelled, “You’re late again!”

What’s his name? Oh, it’s gone down the drain.

I’ve trained my brain to misplace the gloom,

Stuffed it all in a forgotten room.

When sadness knocks, I just giggle instead,

“Sorry, no vacancy in my head!”

So here’s to amnesia, my new best friend,

A goofy companion until the end.

Forget life’s troubles, let joy be your blast,

The future’s too funny to dwell on the past!

Quite funny! If only we could do that full time! Loved the rhyme and meter.

I do agree it is healthy to put certain things behind us and move on - even if we don't forget them entirely.

That was an entertaining read though I think sometimes we need to remember stuff so that we can learn from it. Suzanne _ Wayfaring - Wordpress blog.

I love it! Especially "the future's too funny to dwell on the past." I remember my mom saying "you think everything is funny." I did. I still find a lot of things funny but some not funny at all. I loved your poem. It made me smile.

Thank you, Susan.

Indeed, Rajani. We drop it… then move on.

Remember the lesson but don’t dwell on the pain. Acceptance is the key, Suzanne. Then we move forward.

Happy are those who still find humor amidst chaos. There is so much in this world to make us smile. Thank you for appreciating my piece.

Haha! Yes! I'm determined to laugh, really laugh, at least once a day (and dance, too). I loved this.

I enjoyed the playful rhyming lines. Life is indeed to short and we need to find something to smile at during our days. Even if it the fluttering of bird wings.

Life’s too short for brooding and tears,
I’ve decided to laugh for the rest of my years.

I wish I had a bag I could label forget, and toss it into the sea.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
