A Flicker of Sunlight

longing
yearning
wondering...

if love
so deep
can happen
again...

praying
hoping
waiting...

love's sweet
rendezvous
that's long
overdue...

flickering
dwindling
fading...

beneath
the moon's
dimming span
the stars commiserate

expecting
desiring
aspiring...

perhaps
the break of dawn
will bring her closer
to her sunshine

As long as there is a flicker of sunlight then there is hope. Excellent Bing.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hug. :)

Beautiful my friend. And I truly believe that there is always hope. The day the sun doesn't shine will be the day hope is gone and even on the cloudy days it shines brightly :) Well done!

Such a sweet love song-- I do love how your poem snakes its words in a long train, so you read every one.

I've brought an old favorite to the potluck: http://mairmusic.wordpress.com/2009/04/16/week-26-i-looked-into-my-heart-while-my-eyes-were/ Enjoy!

Love this part, really struck me:

"beneath
the moon's
dimming span
the stars commiserate"

Dimming span...stars commiserate. Love, love, love, your way with words. Great job!

"even when the sky is heavily overcast, the sun hasn't disappeared. it's still there on the other side of the clouds."

the sun always shines...

brian, the sun brightly shines over here. i didn't mean to downplay the pain that cancer brings but my comment at your site sprung from my own experiences of loss- from cancer as against a sudden, tragic death.

thanks for your warm comment here.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
