Jazmine's Poem for Daddy

HE, HIMSELF

i remember how he loved me

as possible as can be,

or should i say with all his heart and might,

as he watched me with his sight.

he was proud with what he saw,

with the look of wonder and awe,

he told me that one day i would see,

that by my side and in my heart stay he be.

Tonight, I received a special letter from Jazmine, my 12 year old daughter. She wrote this poem for her daddy in school and gave it to me as a gift. Below the poem, she wrote: "Mama, if you need me but I'm not there, just read this to remind you of me... From your princess, Jazmine"

My life slowly took a new turn ever since I lost James. It was a painful process but maybe this is all for the best. I am just glad that I'm not alone. It still makes me sad that James is not here to enjoy his kids. But I am confident that he is so proud of them wherever he may be now.

  1. Thank you for visiting and for the nice words, Kaylee. It's easier for me to write about this experience now because my kids and I have moved on. Hopefully, this blog will touch the readers' lives and let them see that they can always rise above any difficult situation. Life does go on.
