Secrets (Haiku)

"If you reveal your secrets to the wind you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees. "  ~ Kahlil Gibran

pensive mood sets in
as life's tapestry unfolds
sssshhhh... don't tell a soul

with a heavy heart
secrets of the past are best
laid to rest... move on...

the dazed mind ponders
some things better left unsaid...
no room for regrets

think of it this way
what difference would it make?
 past can't be undone!

Love the quote. It's so very true.

That pensive mood will come and go for the rest of your life, but your approach to it is the key. I see you have figured that out very nicely. I had no doubt.

Have a terrific day Bing. Big hug. :)

Jim September 1, 2010 at 11:22 PM

Very nice thoughts you have for us. You are so very right, the past cannot be undone. Not always can full reparation be made either.
A simple I'm sorry often works.

You found a very pretty subject for the photo. Her expression matches the words very nicely.

super cute Haiku...

No, the past cannot be undone but it can stymie your growth if it is not dealt with. It can lead to destructive behaviors if not met head on. "And it is from the ashes that the Phoenix shall arise". How I long to someday soon, be that Phoenix!

Nanka September 2, 2010 at 2:28 AM

Deeply thought Haikus. Made a super read. Have a terrific week ahead.

Beautiful! I so admire your ease with haiku. It takes skill to say a lot in few words..........I tend to need so many:) These also reveal a wonderful philosophy.....good work!

Amanda Moore September 2, 2010 at 6:21 AM

You're so right Bing the past cannot be undone we must make peace with it and it's secrets

5th sister, you can be that Phoenix if you want to and set your mind on it. as for the past, i so agree with you that issues have to be resolved and met head on. but there are also things in the past that really don't matter now. sometimes they are not even worth thinking about anymore. and more often than not, it is simply one's choice to be held hostage by the things that he can no longer change.

thanks for stopping by and sharing your wisdom. :)

Bing Yap September 2, 2010 at 12:04 PM

nanka, thanks for appreciating the haiku. =)

Bing Yap September 2, 2010 at 12:08 PM

hi sherry, i'm glad you like this collection. i love doing haiku. my writing style is concise and direct to the point (is that even poetry???) that's why i do haiku with ease. i will forever be grateful to jenn, host of sensational haiku wednesday, for waking up the "haiku-er" or poet in me. thanks for appreciating. it means a lot to me. =)

Bing Yap September 2, 2010 at 12:09 PM

amanda, there's no use being held hostage by the past. one just has to keep moving forward, as jenn once said.

thanks for appreciating and for stopping by again.

Great haiku - the heavy heart especially resonates. Got to find a way to let things go, but it's never easy.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
